Options

Big bags are used for a wide range of products and in varying production environments. A number of options are available for the customised production of your big bags by adapting the fabric, the seams or the coating, for example. But also by providing for the right filling or discharge system. The better the big bag is geared to your situation, the more efficiently (and safer) you can fill, empty and transport it. Your account manager can advise you on the various possibilities.

Fabric

Fabric weights and types impact on the strength and shape of the big bags. Depending on the features targeted and the intended use of the bag, we select the most suitable fabric with a minimum weight. This way, we guarantee the best quality and the smallest quantity of material.

  • The PP fabric used for the big bags is woven from extruded tapes.

  • The fabric can be structured in various ways and usually weighs between 50 and 250 grams per m2.

  • We use projectile looms (Sulzer flat loom) or round looms (Starlinger).

Loops

The loops of the big bags are also custom made in line with your production process. We ensure that the loops are compatible with the lifting system and the attachment points of your filling and discharge installations. In addition, we adapt the colour of the loops so that you can easily distinguish between the various types.

Coating

Standard big bags are made of woven, permeable fabric. However, some products require fully impermeable packaging.

In that case, we provide a coating: a thin layer of extruded polypropylene mix thermofixed on the fabric. This coating seals the fabric completely, making it dust- and moisture-proof.

Dust-proof seams

During sewing, the fabric panels in the seams are perforated by the needles. To make the big bags fully dust-proof, we seal the seams.

We close the perforations and openings between the fabric panels with a fluffy multi-filament dust sealant. Depending on how fine the product is, we use a single, double or triple dust seam.

Labels and document pouches

In addition to the mandatory standard safety label on the big bag, we can attach various additional labels and document pouches. The printed labels are available in a wide range of sizes and various materials.

Printing big bags

Big bags can be printed to provide a clear product presentation and identification. We print the fabric panels using flexography, in up to four colours per side.

Colour coding

Several big bags may circulate at one site, containing a different product or headed for a different destination. We adapt the colour of your big bag in order to distinguish them from one another.

  • The standard colour for fabric, loops and seams is white

  • The fabric, loops and seams can be produced in a different colour (using food-safe colouring agents)

  • The fabric can be (partially) transparent so that the contents are visible after filling
